Fort Washington Marina Master Plan and Stormwater Mitigation Plan

ODG provided architectural and landscaping services for the expansion of an environmentally sensitive eight acre marina.  ODG designed a master plan and a storm water mitigation plan that included three new workshops, a sales office, an 800 gsf restaurant addition, and sustainable landscaping.

ODG’s storm water mitigation plan incorporates best management practices (BMP’s) for filtration methods to ensure that storm water pollutant loads from the developed site are reduced to at least 10% less than the amount generated from the site prior to development.   Strategies include:

  • Protecting and restoring the habitat by adding native vegetation
  • Vegetative filter strips and trenches
  • Minimizing impervious surfaces
  • Coordination with the existing filtration system

These best management practices follow Clean Marina guidelines.

The project was completed in 2007 with a total construction cost of approximately $530,000. The storm water mitigation plan was installed in 2008.
