The project involved designing a new 65,000 gsf athletic facility addition to the historic Alumnae Hall. The athletic facility addition was designed around a compact plan to ensure that exterior recreational grounds are not imposed upon. The recreational spaces are stacked and include a lower level natatorium, a mid-level gymnasium and a upper level walking track balcony. The natatorium includes a six lane, 25-yard pool and spa. The gymnasium includes a NCAA tournament size basketball court with fixed seating for 1560 and special event seating for 2,500. The addition’s exterior brick wall and clay tile roof were designed to match the surrounding campus buildings.
The facade of the addition was designed to reflect the historic character of the surrounding campus. This project was completed in 2003 and the cost of construction for this project was $14,000,000.
Ms. Olshesky served as a Project Architect for the addition of the new Athletics Facility located on the Trinity College Campus.
