ODG is leading the extensive renovation of an 3,420 gsf historic residence dating back to 1876. As LEED consultants, ODG has utilized innovative ways of incorporating sustainable and disaster resilient systems while keeping the historical character of the house intact. As a historic residence, many sustainable design strategies can be found in the original design. The requirements outlined in LEED for Homes are being followed and the residence is expected is achieve a LEED Silver rating. This project is ongoing.
Water efficiencies will be gained by planting a native landscape, installing a rainwater harvesting system, and utilizing water efficient plumbing fixtures. The house will also feature an energy efficient exterior envelope, storm windows, and operable shutters to preserve its historic character and enhance disaster resilience. An energy efficient, radiant heating system and low profile photovoltaic panels will also be installed.
